DVGBC Green Building Legislative Breakfast-FREE

Join DVGBC in this green building forum to discuss proposed state legislation aimed at promoting more efficient use of energy, water and natural resources through the use of green building standards for state owned and state funded green buildings.

Specifically, this meeting will provide an opportunity to learn more about House Bill 444 and Senate Bill 728, which will require that high performance green building standards be implemented in most new or remodeled building projects owned or funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. These bills will significantly grow the green building sector, create green jobs, provide healthier work and learning environments, and save taxpayers money through longterm energy savings.

Senator John Rafferty will speak on the merits of the bills currently being considered in the Senate, with commentary and insights to these bills offered by other legislators in attendance.

DVGBC 2009 BuildGreen Conference and 7th Annual Green Building Celebration

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter and Pennsylvania Governor Edward Rendell have both confirmed their participation in the upcoming 2009 BuildGreen Conference taking place on October 14-15, 2009 at the Sheraton City Center Hotel hosted by the Delaware Valley Green Building Council. BuildGreen 2009 is the first conference in the region that will convene all green building stakeholders in the design/build, policy, manufacturing, and economic development/investment community. The conference will balance networking opportunities, education, and recognition of local leadership. On the evening of October 15 DVGBC will also host the regions premier green building networking event, the 7th Annual Green Building Celebration at the Penn Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. "Using Energy Modeling on Your LEED Projects

Please Join DVGBC and the City of Philadelphia for "Using Energy Modeling on Your LEED Projects."

This half day course is designed for those implementing LEED, applying energy modeling protocol, and the use of ASHRAE Standard 90.1 for LEED Energy and Atmosphere credit compliance. The course clarifies the modeling process, helps avoid common mistakes, and describes the documentation necessary.
