Effective Advocacy.
The Chamber is your direct connection to local, state, and federal governmental officials and policy-makers. Legislation that affects regional business is our top concern, and we strive to act as a voice for the entire Chamber membership. We take the lead on behalf of approximately 5,000 regional companies. Our unique influence at the local and state levels and in Washington, D.C., is your unique influence.
Listening to the concerns of our membership is paramount at the Chamber. Our experienced public policy staff works in the best interest of the entire business community, whether it is lobbying for tax reform or developing relationships between elected officials and members of the Chamber.
GPCC political advocacy programs and events provide members unique opportunities to network with local, state, and national elected officials. We hold receptions with our state and US Congressional Delegations, and with members of the Philadelphia City Council. Each spring, GPCC members travel by train to Washington, D.C. for a full day of meetings with elected officials.
The primary mission of the Chamber’s Public Policy Department:
- Bolster economic growth through initiatives that support a competitive business climate
- Help reduce the cost of doing business through major tax reform
- Attract and retain employers and jobs
- Encourage investment in infrastructure
- Stimulate entrepreneurial and venture capital investment
