Chamber members are encouraged to join their politically active regional colleagues on the legislative tax committees, which have monthly meetings to work toward a more business-friendly climate in Greater Philadelphia.
Local Legislative Committee
Monitors and evaluates proposed legislation in Philadelphia City Council and develops the business community's position on initiatives that affect the private sector such as taxes and business costs.
State Legislative Committee
Members meet quarterly to analyze State legislation and regulations affecting businesses and lobby officials to pass business-friendly legislation.
Federal Legislative Committee
Regional and Washington-based government affairs professionals meet quarterly to examine the effect of Congressional actions on regional businesses.
State and Local Tax Committee
Chamber members who specialize in finance, taxation and management serve on this committee. Members review the annual fiscal plans and tax legislation of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Philadelphia to assure that tax burdens are shared equally.
Regional Colleges & Universities Presidents’ Council
Established by the Chamber to explore cooperative opportunities among more than 88 schools in the region, this council creates linkages and new relationships between the colleges and regional business leaders. Chamber members are welcomed to join.
