Special Certification course to help improve ROI

Behind the Scenes of the Chilean Miners Rescue

Free, open to the community. To celebrate National Engineers Week, Penn State Great Valley is presenting a free event: The Behind the Scenes Story of the Chilean Miners Rescue. A group from Schramm Inc., a West Chester-based manufacturer and supplier for the hydraulic drill industry, was part of the international rescue team for 33 men who were trapped for 69 days nearly half a mile below the earth’s surface in a Chilean mine. Peter Christian, vice president of engineering at Schramm, shares the story of how his group assisted with the rescue. Register at www.sgps.psu.edu/events

Learn how to take advantage of the enormous reach of these and other social media websites at two new workshops, “Social Media for Business" at Penn State Great Valley. Two 4-hour hands on courses will be taught by Nicole Newman, president and CEO of Newman Networks.
Workshop participants will learn how to effectively use social media to build a network and convert that network into long-term customers. Social Media 101 will be held Thursday, May 20 and Advanced Social Media will be held Thursday June 3 from 8 a.m. – noon at Penn State Great Valley, Malvern, PA. Penn State Great Valley opens its new gallery with a special photography exhibit by local artist, photographer, and cultural activist, Lonnie Graham. He is best known for his global images ranging from life-sized portraitures to room-sized installations and urban public community art projects. Although Graham's work captures people and places from around the world, this exhibition will focus on local landscapes as he shares many never-before-seen images of the beautiful Chester County countryside, where the artist currently resides.
