Global Business Conference: Mapping the Global Economy in 2012

On February 28, the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia, in cooperation with Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business, will host its 9th Annual Global Business Conference at the Creese Student Union Complex at Drexel University.

This year’s conference, entitled “Mapping the Global Economy in 2012” will include a panel discussion on the future of the global economy, an update on free trade agreements and streamlining cross-border trade with Canada, and a panel on how small and medium-sized businesses are successfully capturing their share of international markets. In addition, attendees will hear an exciting keynote address that talks about a new paradigm for U.S. exporters.

State of the Port Address & Luncheon

The State of the Port Address & Luncheon is your opportunity to gather with the local port community and learn of the latest global and regional port developments affecting your business growth. This event is organized by the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia (WTCGP) and the World Trade Association (WTA) of Philadelphia, Inc.

An update and overview of the Greater Philadelphia region ports will be given by Dennis Rochford, president of the Maritime Exchange for the Delaware River and Bay. Mr. Rochford has taken the lead on behalf of the tri-state maritime community in the effort to deepen the Delaware River main shipping channel.

The keynote presentation will be given by Paul Bingham, Economic Practice Leader for transportation and infrastructure consulting firm, Wilbur Smith Associates. Mr. Bingham manages the firm’s economics team analyzing the economic impacts, financial feasibility, and the costs and benefits of transportation policy and infrastructure developments.
