American Crane Assists in the Clean Up

Posted to Announcement by Mrs. Beth Lerario of American Crane & Equipment Corporation at 9:56 AM

American Crane and Equipment is excited to announce its contribution to the construction of the world’s largest radio-active waste treatment plant. Our 3 Ton Bridge Crane was recently installed at the Hanford Vitrification Plant, located in the southeastern part of Washington State.

Our highly integrated and specialized Bridge Crane (weighing 6 tons and spanning over 17 feet) is designed and equipped to handle high levels of radiation via onboard systems that allow for remote operation and recovery. The special features of this crane enable the handling of the radioactive waste, which once vitrified will be placed in 55 gallon carbon steel drums.

The Department of Energy commissioned the design and construction of the project to Bechtel National Corporation. The teamwork and cooperation between all parties involved in the project led to a successful and timely installation. For more articles related to this project visit http://www.hanfordvitplant.com/.

American Crane Delivers the Payload!

Posted to Announcement by Mrs. Beth Lerario of American Crane & Equipment Corporation at 9:07 AM

We are very excited to be part of NASA's Twin Gravity Recovery And Interior Laboratory (GRAIL) spacecraft mission. The purpose of the GRAIL mission is to further advance an understanding of the moon's thermal evolution.

American Crane's MST (Mobile Service Tower) Single Failure Proof Crane helped build and later placed the payload (housing the GRAIL Twins) on top of the Delta II rocket. This Single Failure Proof Crane enabled the successful transfer, given the redundancy feature of its wire rope hoist. This crane has also assisted in such space missions as Skynet4D, Galaxy-10, Mars Polar Lander/DS-2, Orion F-3 and many others.

American Crane can help with wildlife preservation...

Posted to Announcement by Mrs. Beth Lerario of American Crane & Equipment Corporation at 1:55 PM

American Crane can help with wildlife preservation...

Man made dams along rivers can block the migration of many species of fish to their spawning grounds upriver; most notably the American Shad, Hickory Shad and Salmon. American Crane offers specialized lift equipment designed to assist fish in the migratory process of swimming upstream to these spawning areas.

Fish lifts work by using water currents to attract the migrating fish into a channel. The equipment safely crowds the fish into a lift station for transport upstream of the dam. Specialized features are designed into each system to offer highly reliable performance in an outdoor application under all weather conditions. American Crane is proud to supply products that preserve our precious wildlife resources.

Click here to learn about our custom lift products. For further details regarding your specific application, please email our sales department or call us at 1-877-877-6778.
