President Obama Endorses American Manufacturing During Visit to The Rodon Group/K’NEX Brands

The President’s backdrop was colorfully filled with K’NEX building toys, including an American flag made of 49,000 K'NEX pieces.

The Rodon Group is proud to host a National Manufacturing Day Event on October 5, 2012

Come join us for a tour of our automated tooling and molding facility.

The Rodon Group is hosting a tour of its manufacturing facility at 2800 Sterling Drive, Hatfield, PA in celebration of national Manufacturing Day on October 5, 2012. The factory tours will be conducted at 10 am and 2 pm. Refreshments will be served.

The Rodon Group manufactures K'NEX™ Construction Toys for our sister company as well as other custom manufactured parts. Visitors will get a behind the scenes look at our design and machine rooms as well as our plastic injection mold press facility.

Manufacturing Day is sponsored by several national and regional manufacturing organizations.

On April 25th, Irving Glickman will celebrate his 100th birthday and a manufacturing career that has spanned seven decades. As a pioneer in the development of synthetic rubber, Mr. Glickman saw the greater potential of thermoplastics and in 1956, he founded The Rodon Group.

Responsibilities:
Developing in PHP based shopping engine environment
Working with MySQL Databases for dynamic product information display.
Working with layered PSD files to create dynamic, functioning web portals
Responsible for updating web based databases and supporting Dynamic Web environment.
Prepare images for web use using imaging application programs
Work in an inter-departmental team to ensure timely collection of information.
Skills and Experience:
HTML, PHP, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint Etc), Ajax, Adobe Photoshop
2+ yrs of HTML and Dynamic Web site building experience
2+ yrs of programming in PHP & MySQL
2+ yrs of image editing experience (preferably Photoshop/illustrator)

K’NEX to integrate with Virtual Piggy’s Parent-Approved Purchasing System

K'NEX, the construction toy company focused on Building Worlds Kids Love™, announced today that they have entered into an agreement with Virtual Piggy, Inc. that will integrate the Virtual PiggyTM service with knex.com.

Virtual Piggy’s system provides eCommerce merchants a secure mechanism for children to shop online in a parent controlled, parent monitored, COPPA compliant environment. Free for all parents, the Virtual Piggy service will allow parents to set pre-authorized approvals and limits for their child’s online spending. Kids will then be able to manage their online budgets and to buy products from approved companies like K’NEX by clicking on the Virtual Piggy icon at checkout. Parents can choose to receive e-mail or text messages allowing them to approve or deny purchases.

The Unveiling of the Monster Jam® Grave Digger® 30th Anniversary K’NEX® Big Build at Alamodome in San Antonio, TX

K’NEX Brands, the only US construction toy company focused on Building Worlds Kids Love™, in conjunction with Monster Jam®, is pleased to announce that a life-size replica of the Grave Digger® 30th Anniversary monster truck body, built entirely with K’NEX parts, was unveiled during the Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam pre-show Party in the Pits at the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX on Saturday, January 14th, 2012. Operation Big Build was announced in September 2011, but K’NEX and Monster Jam kept the identity of the actual Big Build a secret until the Alamodome unveiling. Monster Jam fans in San Antonio, TX, were the first people to see the astonishing model. From San Antonio, the Grave Digger 30th Big Build will tour to select cities in the US as part of the traveling Grave Digger 30th Experience.

Good Housekeeping Best Toy Award Goes To Chamber Member

Good Housekeeping chose K'NEX's Mario Kart Wii Mario and Luigi Starting Line as one of the most fun and safe toys.

Part construction set, part racetrack, the K'Nex Mario Kart Wii Mario and Luigi Starting Line (ages 6+) lets kids build an obstacle course and then set motorized Mario and Luigi cars loose. The crazy brothers bounce off each other and the track's roadblocks — live, but just like in the video game.
