MTM LinguaSoft Translates PHLCVB's New Website

Last week the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau (PHLCVB) announced the official launch of its new convention and international visitor website, http://www.discoverPHL.com. Philadelphia language services company and GPCC member MTM LinguaSoft handled the website translation for the versions of the site that are available in French, German, Spanish, and Portuguese.

The website was developed using the open source content management system (CMS) Umbraco, and MTM LinguaSoft worked closely with the staff at PHLCVB and digital agency MMGY Global, the site developer, to establish the most efficient translation process.

Cultural awareness training: a new "must" for American business

MTM President Wins Executive Program Scholarship

Myriam Siftar, the president of MTM LinguaSoft, just returned from an intensive week of study at the Tuck-WBENC Executive Exchange Program, which took place from October 3-7 at the IBM Executive Palisades Conference Center in Palisades, NY

The Tuck-WBENC program is an intensive, five-day executive development program for WBENC-certified women business enterprises (WBEs). The program is designed to help WBEs that are beyond the startup phase to assess, improve and grow their businesses.

Siftar attended the program on a full scholarship provided by one of the sponsoring companies, which included IBM, Citibank, Bank of America, UPS, Pfizer and AT&T.

Export University 2010

The US Export Assistance Center will be offering a series of seminars designed to give businesses the skills, strategies, insights and network of contacts needed to successfully expand business overseas.

The four-course series begins on January 28, 2010, with a session at the Delaware Valley Industrial Resource Center called "Preparing to Do Business Overseas."

Myriam Siftar, president of MTM LinguaSoft, a Philadelphia language services company, will give one of the presentations (on website globalization) at the second session - "Market Penetration Considerations" - to be held at the Chester County Economic Development Council on March 24.

Further sessions in May and July will take up "Joint Ventures & Licensing and International Bid and Performance Bonds" and "Adapting Products to Individual Markets."

The sessions are $45 each and registration is available on-line at www.buyusa.gov/philadelphia.

MTM LinguaSoft, Brooklyn Public Library and Annenberg School

The Brooklyn Public Library System has contracted with The Ivy Group and MTM LinguaSoft to conduct market research that will shape the Library’s strategic planning. In addition to assisting The Ivy Group in conducting focus groups and telephone surveys in six languages, MTM is providing an array of translation and interpretation services for this community assessment project.

On Friday, May 29, MTM LinguaSoft provided simultaneous English-Chinese interpretation for a workshop at the Center for Global Communications Studies of the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania. The workshop was in conjunction with the Center's 7th annual Chinese Internet Research Conference and concentrated on prominent academics, bloggers and policy analysts on the topic "Chinese Perspectives on Internet Governance."

Myriam Siftar of MTM LinguaSoft joins marketing association board

Myriam Siftar, president of MTM LinguaSoft, a language services provider in Philadelphia, has joined the board of the Philadelphia American Marketing Association (PAMA) for a one year term beginning on July 1. At the first meeting of the board, Siftar was also elected Vice President for Membership.

PAMA is the local chapter of the national American Marketing Association and is made up of over 800 professionals in marketing and related areas representing a diversified array of businesses, industries, government agencies and professional organizations.

Siftar, whose work involves overseeing the translation, typesetting and layout of marketing materials from brochures to websites, said that she looks forward to interacting regularly with the marketing professionals in PAMA. "I am really excited to be part of the seventh largest AMA chapter in the country," Siftar said. She added that she wants to focus particularly on strengthening the chapter by getting more members active and involved.

MTM LinguaSoft Chosen as Preferred Provider

MTM LinguaSoft, a Philadelphia language services company which is a member of the GPCC Supplier Network, has been chosen as the preferred provider for language translation services by the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA).

Funeral directors often have need of translation services because all the paperwork accompanying bodies shipped out of the U.S. must be translated into the language of the country of destination. NFDA serves 19,500 individual members who represent more than 10,000 funeral homes in the United States and internationally. As an NFDA preferred provider, MTM LinguaSoft will receive international publicity through NFDA's website and magazine.

MTM LinguaSoft, a Philadelphia language services company, announced today that it had received certification as a women's business enterprise from the Women's Business Enterprise Council (WBENC) through the Women's Business Enterprise Council of PA-DE-sNJ. The WBENC certification for women-owned businesses is one of the most widely recognized certifications in the nation and is accepted by thousands of corporations within the country and a number of federal and government agencies.

MTM LinguaSoft Globalizes Nursery School Web site pro bono

International Marketing Seminar, November 15

MTM LinguaSoft will be one of the cosponsors of the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia's Quarterly Briefing on Thursday, November 15. The seminar is entitled "Implementing Your International Marketing Plan," and is for anyone who wants to find out what they can do to improve their success in exporting. The panel will take up such topics as: working with overseas trading partners, international distribution, marketing communications, website globalization, and intellectual property protection.

MTM LinguaSoft President Myriam Siftar will be speaking on "Guidelines for Effective Global Communication." Other participants will include Glenn Dooley, Director of Northern Markets for Wachovia Bank, and James Bischoff, a partner at Ballard Spahr Andrews and Ingersoll's Washington, DC office.

The seminar will take place at the Plymouth Country Club in Plymouth Meeting from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
