Shut Up & Dance 2009

For the 17th consecutive year, dancers of Pennsylvania Ballet join forces for Shut Up & Dance – a one-night-only benefit performance for MANNA at THE FORREST THEATRE (1114 Walnut Street) on SATURDAY, MARCH 28, 2009 at 8:00 PM.

MANNA prepares and delivers delicious, nourishing meals and counsel for people at acute nutritional risk due to life-threatening illness, empowering those individuals to battle their illness and improve their quality of life.

Hosted by Michaela Majoun of WXPN, Shut Up & Dance features original works, choreographed and performed by the dancers. Tickets to Shut Up & Dance range from $50 to $100.

The evening’s excitement will continue at Shout with Sole: a spicy after-party with The Dancers from 9:30 PM to midnight at SoleFood Restaurant at Loews Philadelphia Hotel, 1200 Market Street. Hosted by DJ Robert Drake from WXPN, reserved after-party tickets can be purchased for $100.

MANNA presents Pie in the Sky 2008

With the goal of selling 14,000 pies to raise $400,000, Pie in the Sky is MANNA’s largest fundraiser. From now until November 19, a selection of five gourmet Thanksgiving pies will be on sale for $25 - $35 each, with all proceeds benefiting MANNA’s mission – to deliver vital nourishment to individuals and families who are coping with life-threatening illnesses. The sale of the pies makes it possible for MANNA to deliver three nutritious meals, seven days a week to clients throughout the Delaware Valley.

In addition to the many individuals and teams that continue to support Pie in the Sky, MANNA has added a corporate sales opportunity for businesses that may want to give pies to employees and clients this year. Orders can be placed by calling Rob Saxon at 215.496.2662 x 138, or rsaxon@mannapa.org. The deadline for corporate orders is NOON on Friday, NOVEMBER 14, 2008.
