The National Liberty Museum, located at 321 Chestnut Street on Philadelphia’s Liberty Trail, opened in the year 2000 and has welcomed more than half million visitors to date, from the Philadelphia metropolitan area and around the world.

We are both an art museum and an education resource center. Our education mission is to preserve our democracy and freedoms by helping young people develop into successful and principled adults. The Museum’s galleries are filled with stunning glass artwork and interactive exhibits that share the stories of more than 2,000 heroes from all walks of life, like Rosa Parks, Bono, Nelson Mandela, and Alexandra Scott who built a Lemonade Stand. Their stories exemplify the power each of us has to make a positive difference.

The Museum offers education tours, hands-on workshops and outreach programs for youth that are aligned with PA State standards and address the important topics of character education, bullying and violence prevention, active citizenship and diversity appreciation. We are also accredited by the State of PA to offer 20 ACT48 professional development workshops for educators on these topics.

The Museum serves all public, private, parochial, charter, and alternative schools, as well as youth and community groups, throughout the Delaware Valley and beyond. Our commitment is to turn no child away, and whenever need is expressed, we waive our nominal fees.

The National Museum of American Jewish History, located on historic Independence Mall in Philadelphia, brings to life the 350-year history of Jews in America. Tracing the stories of how Jewish immigrants became Jewish Americans, the Museum invites visitors of all heritages to share their own stories and reflect on how their histories and identities shape and are shaped by the American experience. An open door for all, NMAJH honors the past and contributes to a better future by sharing the power of imagination and ideas, culture and community, leadership and service, in ways that turn inspiration into action.

Featuring more than 1,200 artifacts, as well as original films and 13 state-of-the-art interactive displays, the exhibition showcases how an immigrant population flourished under freedom and highlights the diverse backgrounds and experiences of Jews in this country.

The Museum interprets how Jews shape and are shaped by America, explores the blessings and challenges of freedom, and provides opportunities for visitors to contribute their own stories.

With its stunning interior and spectacular, one-of-a-kind views of Independence Mall, and with more than 20,000 square feet of event space on multiple levels, the new five-story Museum is the perfect venue for special events and meetings.

Cafe
No visit to the Museum would be complete without a stop at the Museum's kosher café, Pomegranates Café. Overlooking Market Street with seating for 35, Pomegranates Café offers visitors light fare, specialty coffees and dairy snacks and beverages.

Museum Store

Since 1921, Nationalities Service Center (NSC) has been providing translation and interpretation services to immigrants, refugees, and others from all over the globe right here in Philadelphia. Today we also serve businesses nonprofits, government agencies, and individuals on projects of every size, scope, and subject. Our Center City office is an important touch point for Philadelphians of all backgrounds, and our roots in the community go deep. We offer both consecutive and simultaneous interpretation in more than 100 languages. In addition we provide culturally appropriate, punctual, and meticulous translations in a variety of formats.
