PEBA’s 31st Annual Forum, which as part of our mission to provide on-going education, development, and networking opportunities for compensation and benefits professionals in the Delaware Valley, will be held on April 18, 2013 at the Hilton Philadelphia City Line Avenue. The Forum theme is, “Preparing for Change” and we are looking forward to seeing a variety of vendors who can help our members meet the needs of the changing workforce. Our speakers routinely represent some of the area’s top talent in human resources, and drive many participants to the conference. We expect over 300 participants to join us for the 2013 Forum. We are thrilled to be celebrating our 31st anniversary this year and hope you can join us.

The End of the Road for DB Plans: Options for a New Route

Posted to Event by Ms. Susan B. DeMinico of Penjerdel Employee Benefits & Compensation Assn. at 3:56 PM

For the last several years, companies have been struggling to determine what to do with their DB Plans. The Pension Protection Act of 2006 has created an interesting dynamic as it relates to these plans as it forces companies to evaluate the future of their DB Plan. This program will explore how we got to this point and the options available to plan sponsors, such as plan termination, conversion to a cash balance plan, and plan design changes allowing companies to keep their plan. We will also take a look at investment strategies to consider once a strategy for the DB plan has be finalized.
