Register today for the 23rd Annual Mid-Atlantic Capital (MAC) Alliance Awards Luncheon, being held on June 3, 2010. This signature event is the culmination of our program year, attracting over 500 of the private equity and entrepreneurial community's key leaders and players. Held at the Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia, the event will run from 11.30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Purchase your ticket—or table—online at the MAC Alliance website.
The 2010 MAC Alliance Awards Luncheon will recognize three individuals who have made a significant impact on the Greater Philadelphia private equity community, including:
- Stephen A. Tullman, President & CEO of Ception Therapeutics, Inc., will be receiving the Walter M. Aikman Entrepreneur of the Year Award. This Award is presented for recent entrepreneurial success in the development of a venture-backed business with significant growth in sales, market impact, and value. We are thrilled to recognize one of our region's successes, and we thank Duane Morris LLP for their sponsorship of this award.
- Hal Rosenbluth, Senior Vice President, Walgreen Company, President, Walgreen Health & Wellness Division, and Chairman, Take Care Health Systems, is the second honoree of 2010. Hal will be honored with the Raymond Rafferty Entrepreneurial Excellence Award. This Award, sponsored by Blank Rome LLP, recognizes an individual who has founded one or more successful venture-backed companies and has greatly influenced a specific industry with pioneering ideas.
- Rob McCord, State Treasurer of the Pennsylvania State Treasury Department, is our final honoree for 2010. Rob will be receiving the Blair Thompson Lifetime Venture Award, sponsored by Quaker BioVentures. This is awarded in recognition of a direct, major and successful role in furthering the region's venture interests by promoting or strengthening our venture capital base and innovatively enhancing the venture process.
Pre-registrations will be taken on our website through Friday, May 14. Any registrations taken after that time will be taken on-site as space is available.
This year's Awards Luncheon will also include the official launch of our new entity created through the merger of the MAC Alliance and the Eastern Technology Council (ETC). The newly merged organization will offer a comprehensive approach to supporting a company's life cycle — from early stage through growth — by facilitating interaction, information and education. The organization, an affiliate of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, will provide a single, strategic hub where key resources—including investors, strategic partners, professional advisors, and peers—are available and accessible.
Check our website over the coming weeks for more information on the merger, and for information on ways you can leverage this great new resource!
