The Chamber Implements Member Suggestions
The Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce surveyed its membership in March of 2006, assessing the areas where we could better serve our membership. The survey indicated that members were most interested in issues such as: innovative web and online programming, cost-effective access to nonprofit events, efficient electronic communication with members, enhanced networking opportunities, and increased knowledge of Chamber services.
Web-based and online programs can enhance networking opportunities throughout our region. The Chamber will begin offering these programs in September and will continue to feature online programming during the year. Through a partnership with Fast Pitch Online Networking, the Chamber will host an event where members can network online—without the commute—on September 28 from 9 – 10 a.m. The Chamber will also broadcast an online version of its Member Orientation on October 24 from 9 – 10 a.m., powered by WebEx. These two programs will ensure that our regional members throughout southeastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and northern Delaware will be able to connect with each other without leaving the comfort of their office, and the Chamber will stay technologically in step with its members.
To address the financial concerns from the Chamber's nonprofit members, there will no longer be a fee for the Nonprofit Series, which includes two events per year that target issues pertinent to nonprofit organizations. Our first program in this series will be on Thursday, October 26 at the Chamber offices from 8:30 – 11:00 a.m., discussing tips and tricks to enhance nonprofit boards.
To streamline information sent by the Chamber via email to its membership, The Chamber Datebook has been created to give a weekly overview of the Chamber’s upcoming events. In addition, a new user-friendly version of the online events calendar has been added to the Chamber Web site, with special features including the option to forward events to colleagues, add events to your personal calendar, access driving directions, and receive event reminders. A revised and revamped Chamber Web site is also on the horizon.
The Chamber’s Ambassador Committee has returned for a second year to aid both new and current members as they collectively network and use the Chamber to improve their business relationships. Please click here for more information about the Ambassador Committee.
Each Chamber member has a member relations representative who is eager to answer your questions regarding membership benefits. If you are unsure who your representative is, please send an email to memberrelations@greaterphilachamber.com or call 215-790-3703.
The Chamber appreciates all of the suggestions received from the survey, and will continually strive to enhance membership programs and services. If you would like to submit feedback, please do so by emailing memberrelations@greaterphilachamber.com. |
