Billy King at Young Professionals Network Event
The Young Professionals Network (YPN) has two exciting events coming up that emphasize the importance of community involvement.
The first event takes place at the National Liberty Museum on Tuesday, December 12 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. At the event, Billy King, general manager of the Philadelphia 76ers, will discuss the importance of leadership, self-development, and giving back to the community. Leading by example, YPN members will be accepting donations of new or unused books, and Borders or Barnes & Nobles’ gift certificates, to benefit the children of McClure Elementary School. The event is presented in partnership with TD Banknorth and Saint Joseph University’s Haub School of Business. It is free to YPN members; $20 for non-members.
As a follow-up to the event at the National Liberty Museum, YPN will host a seminar on volunteering on Wednesday, January 3, 2007, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Chamber. Attendees will learn how to put Billy King’s words into action and take steps to become better community leaders. Meet staff and learn about opportunities to get involved at these organizations: Greater Philadelphia Cares, Variety (The Children’s Charity), and the Philadelphia Youth Network.
