Governor Rendell Addressed the Business Community on “Prescription for Pennsylvania”

Last month, the Chamber presented a new event, “A Conversation with the Governor,” in which Philadelphia’s business leaders met with The Honorable Ed Rendell. Sovereign Bank was the title sponsor for the event, which drew about 400 attendees to the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown. Governor Rendell spoke on his new healthcare plan “Prescription for Pennsylvania” and participated in a televised interview to air on WHYY.

Only one day prior to the event Governor Rendell released his new health plan for Pennsylvania, making the discussion especially pertinent. Rendell used “A Conversation with the Governor” to go into more specific detail on his groundbreaking healthcare proposal and explain how it would impact the business community and the Commonwealth in general.

WHYY Radio Times host Marty Moss-Coane moderated the second portion of the program, an in-depth and more informal interview. Moss-Coane asked Rendell a wide range of questions that were submitted earlier by members of the audience. The candid interview covered everything from casinos to the Governor’s future political career. The first scheduled air date is February 2 at 10 p.m. on WHYY-TV as a Radio on TV special. The program is available for download at http://www.whyy.org.

Additionally, Governor Rendell remained after the structured portion of the event meeting personally with members of the business community.

The event was co-sponsored by AT&T, Concentra Medical Centers, Deloitte, Gamesa, Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation, Stradley Ronon, WHYY and Berry and Homer.
