Celebrating Women in Business at the Paradigm Luncheon
Every year, the Chamber recognizes a woman in business for her outstanding professional and personal achievements. This year’s celebration of the Paradigm Award™ winner, Terry D’Alessandro, Market CEO, Metro Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, Sovereign Bank, will take place at a luncheon on Thursday, March 15 at the Crystal Tea Room in the Wanamaker Building. The event is presented by Ernst and Young.
Terry D’Alessandro has been a leader in financial services industry for more than 35 years. In her current position, she is responsible for all retail and commercial business growth and profitability of the $2.6 billion market and leads more than 500 employees. Sovereign is the 17th largest banking institution in the United States.
In addition to her many accomplishments and successes at Sovereign, Ms. D’Alessandro is committed to investing in her community. She serves as chairperson of the board of directors of United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania and led its 2005-2006 annual campaign. She also serves on the boards of the Center City District in Philadelphia, Surrey Services for Seniors, and The Forum of Executive Women.
At the 15th Annual Paradigm Award™ Luncheon, Ms. D’Alessandro will be presented with the distinctive Paradigm crystal sculpture and a charitable gift. Through the generosity of corporate sponsors, a portion of the Paradigm gift is donated in the winner’s name to the Paradigm Scholarship for Working Women. This merit scholarship is awarded annually to women who wish to complete their undergraduate degrees while working full-time. Furthermore, the Chamber reserves a one-year position on its Board of Directors for the Paradigm Award recipient.
