Connect with Large Corporations through Supplier Network
The Chamber and Citizens Bank are proud to present the Spring 2007 Supplier Network Series, to connect small business owners and executives with the region’s foremost procurement officers.
As small companies enhance their business strategies and techniques through this program, large companies gain a more qualified, reliable collection of vendors. By promoting collaboration among small and large companies, the GPCC Supplier Network stimulates regional development by creating a more unified business community in Greater Philadelphia.
The educational and networking series is seeing tangible results as more and more small companies are attracting business from large corporations.
Michael Pearson, President of Union Packaging LLC, has built a vast network of beneficial business relationships through the Series. “Entrée to our region’s leading buyers is not the complete story of the GPCC Supplier Network. Yes, through the one-on-one networking session at the conclusion of the series, I was able to further develop a relationship with Tasty Baking Company. However, I have also forged relationships with fellow participants, both students and panelists, which have yielded a variety of data on programs that can enhance my business. Through such interaction, I discovered a wealth of relocation incentives offered by the Philadelphia Department of Commerce. The series has been indispensable in my company’s development.”
Tony Buchanan, Partner at Adagio Consults, learned how to leverage his status as a Veteran-owned business and sharpened his business strategies and techniques through instructional classes. “We had been working on a few engagements for one of the Supplier Network Supporting Companies, but not until we met their supplier diversity executive at the Supplier Network panel session were we able to realize that our veteran-owned status could benefit the client because of their government subcontracting requirements. One of the other major benefits included interfacing with many top agencies in a short time. In addition, the instructional courses were a great refresher for our current practices and a great source of new techniques, which we learned directly from the procurement officers of the Supporting Companies.”
The Spring 2007 series will be held Tuesdays at the Chamber beginning on March 20. For more information about GPCC Supplier Network or to register for the next series, visit suppliernet.gpcc.com or contact Brynn Hines at bhines@greaterphilachamber.com or 215-790-3630.
As we look ahead to the Spring Series, we are proud to congratulate the graduates of the Winter GPCC Supplier Network class.
