Business Leaders to Meet with Officials in D.C.

On Wednesday, May 9, dozens of Chamber members will travel by private train to Washington, D.C. for Chamber Day, an annual public policy event that connects Greater Philadelphia's prominent business leaders with the region's Congressional delegation for a full day of insightful meetings.

Chamber Day provides an excellent opportunity for local executives to hear directly from their elected representatives who develop policies that impact the business climate in Greater Philadelphia.

Attendees will have the chance to develop and advance important working relationships with Congressional members as well as Chamber Day participants as the Chamber advances the business community's agenda in Washington, D.C.

In the morning, participants will enjoy briefings from regional members of Congress in the Capitol building.  The day continues in the Senate Dirksen Office Building for lunch and afternoon briefings by U.S. Senators.

In Washington, D.C., the Chamber strives to promote public policy decisions that will bolster regional economic growth and improve our competitiveness nationally and globally.

The Chamber’s federal legislative priorities include seeking federal corporate tax relief in order to promote the growth of business, urging congressional approval of funding for important local projects such as transportation improvements, working to address the healthcare crisis through federal remedies, and urging congressional support for trade measures which promote U.S. competitiveness in foreign markets.

The Chamber urges cooperation and partnership among governments, and business and civic communities to achieve these goals.
