Emergency Preparedness for Your Business Featuring The Honorable Tom Ridge

Is your business prepared for an emergency? Nearly half of companies that experience a disruptive event without having a recovery plan end up going out of business, according to industry standards. Can your company protect its assets? Do you have a contingency plan that encompasses relocation sites and effective communications? Would it benefit you to hear firsthand accounts about how companies successfully recovered from disasters? Do you know the risks for our region?

Join the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and the regional business community to learn how your company—from large corporations to mid-sized factories, property managers and small offices—should prepare for emergencies and disasters. This half-day program will highlight emergency preparedness on business and regional levels, and culminate with our luncheon speakerThe Honorable Tom Ridge sharing a national perspective on the important role public-private sector collaborations play in disaster preparedness, response and recovery. He will also outline the characteristics of successful collaborations and address the need for enhancing coordination between the business community and all levels of government.

The program will be on Friday, May 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Loews Philadelphia Hotel at 1200 Market Street in Philadelphia. Breakout sessions are designed to suit companies of all sizes. Featured panelists include Dr. Harvey Rubin, Professor of Medicine and Director Institute for Strategic Threat Analysis and Response, University of Pennsylvania; MaryAnn Marrocolo, Deputy Managing Director, City of Philadelphia; and John Dougherty, Chairman of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Counterterrorism Task Force. They will be joined by moderator Tom Foley, CEO, Southeastern Pennsylvania American Red Cross.

Title sponsor Blank Rome is joined by co-sponsors Day & Zimmerman, Deloitte, Sunoco, Sprint, PECO, and media partners The Inquirer, Daily News and philly.com.
