First Lady Marjorie O. Rendell at Women Take Charge

On Wednesday, June 13, the First Lady of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Judge Marjorie O. Rendell will speak at the Chamber event Catalysts for Change – Women Take Charge. Presented in partnership with the Philadelphia Business Journal, The Honorable Marjorie Rendell will discuss her career and achievements, as well as the strides women have accomplished and the future of female leadership.

Everyday, female business leaders use their success and influence to initiate social and economic change in our communities. Whether it’s by establishing and participating in local community organizations; breaking new ground in unconventional business roles; or advocating for issues including health care, economic stability, and education; Women Take Charge celebrates women inspiring other female professionals to reach their highest potential.

The event also features a distinguished panel of women leaders. Amy Goldberg, MD, Chief of Trauma & Surgical Critical Care, Temple University Hospital; Cheryl McKissack, President & CEO, The McKissack Group, Inc.; Leslie Stiles, Executive Director, Pennsylvania Commission for Women; and Lisa Young, Partner, Ernst & Young, LLP, will share their firsthand experiences.

Held at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown, Women Take Charge is sponsored by Beneficial Savings Bank, Cigna, and Stradley Ronon.

A portion of the registration fees for the event will be donated to The Career Wardrobe, which provides professional clothing and personal development seminars for women transitioning into the workforce. Over 35,000 women in the Philadelphia area have benefited from the organization’s services to date. Attendees are being asked to bring a gently used professional accessory or new beauty product to donate to The Career Wardrobe. Needed items include purses, portfolios, scarves, jewelry or unused cosmetics.
