Chamber Day Success
Last month, the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce took 50 business leaders down to Washington, D.C. in a private Amtrak car for its annual Chamber Day event.
Every year Chamber Day provides an excellent opportunity for participants to meet members of the regional Congressional Delegation and hear about their vision for our region and nation as a whole. Attendees have the opportunity to develop and advance important working relationships with Congressional members, as well as other Chamber Day participants, as the Chamber advances the business community's agenda in Washington, D.C.
During the morning 2007 Chamber Day, several members of the House took the time to meet with the participants in the Capitol Building and provide insight on a host of issues including transportation, immigration, and health care.
After a short walk to the Senate side of Capitol Hill, Chamber members enjoyed lunch and afternoon briefings from members of the Senate, including Senators Tom Carper (D-DE), Bob Casey (D-PA), Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ), Robert Menendez (D-NJ), and Arlen Specter (R-PA).
Sponsored by Independence Blue Cross, Boeing, Citizens Bank, Concentra and Sunoco, this year’s Chamber Day proved to be a very successful and productive trip.
