Chamber Implements Member Suggestions

In response to our recently completed 2nd annual Member Survey, the Chamber is pleased to announce we have initiated several new programs and services and improved existing programs.

The survey indicated that members would like more specific information about membership benefits, additional opportunities to exhibit at events and more small business focused events. So we created web based resources, exclusive programs and events, and additional marketing opportunities that complement current benefits to create a profitable business networking environment for Chamber members.

We have launched a Members-Only section on greaterphilachamber.com where members are able to access a variety of members-only resources, update their company profile, and pay invoices online. The new Business Resource page was created to help members and their employees navigate the numerous programs, benefits, services, and products offered by the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. The Online Bulletin Board, which provides a place for members to post items such as an events, accomplishments, and job openings, can now be sorted by a variety of categories. Additionally, we have rejuvenated our Speakers’ Connection so that members can upload their bios and areas of expertise to be considered for speaking opportunities.

The Chamber’s members-only Workshop Series consists of various learning programs, held primarily the Chamber, that provide attendees with opportunities to network, exchange ideas, and gain insight on business trends in the region. Business Briefings feature a keynote speaker or a panel of speakers who discuss the regional business climate and issues that impact local companies. Quarterly Educational Workshops target small to mid-sized companies and help them gain a broader perspective of the skills and training necessary to build their business. The Chamber is also launching an Owner’s-Only series that will investigate topics pertaining to business ownership. More information on the Chamber’s upcoming events can be found here.

The Chamber also offers a wide variety of marketing options to promote member businesses through advertising, exhibitor, and sponsorship opportunities. Members may submit a press release to our monthly newsletter, host a program at their office or venue, or set up an exhibit tables at one of our Business Before or Business After Hours events. Information about Chamber events and benefits is communicated through our many electronic and print formats. The Chamber’s Web site, greaterphilachamber.com, is continually updated to reflect our most current programs and involvements. The events calendar on the Web site is a particularly good, with many special features including the option to forward events to colleagues, add events to a personal calendar, access driving directions, and receive event reminders. The Chamber Datebook, a weekly email to members, provides a listing of the Chamber’s upcoming events. GPCCNews, the Chamber’s monthly e-newsletter, includes events and issues impacting the business climate in Greater Philadelphia. Chamber at a Glance, a bi-monthly print calendar mailed to members, provides a preview of select upcoming Chamber programs and events.
