Call for Applications for the Paradigm Scholarship for Working Women
Do you know a hard-working woman who is looking to go back to school to follow her aspirations? The Paradigm Scholarship for Working Woman may be able to help her out. Through the generosity and determination of many individuals and corporations, this merit-based scholarship is awarded annually to women who wish to complete their undergraduate degrees while working full-time for Chamber-member companies.
Winners receive up to $5,000 to be used for tuition and/or books within a two-year period. Scholarship recipients will be announced at the Paradigm Award celebration on March 12.
Be sure to check your mailbox for a poster about the Paradigm Scholarship to put up in the common areas of your business to let all of your employees know about our call for application submissions. This could be a great opportunity for someone on your staff to be able to continue her education and bring new skills to your workforce.
Applicants for the Paradigm Scholarship for Working Women must meet the following criteria:
- A full-time employee, working at least 30 hours per week for a Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce member company
- Have completed at least one full year of college at a two- or four-year accredited institution and have a minimum of five years work experience
- Hold an exemplary work record
- Submit an official copy of her college transcript and two letters of recommendation including one from her current employer
- Submit a 200-word essay on why she should be selected as a recipient of the Paradigm Scholarship for Working Women
Scholarship applicants are not eligible if their employer offers full tuition reimbursement. A copy of the employer’s tuition reimbursement policy must be included with the applicant’s submission.

The Paradigm Scholarship for Working Women is a part of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce’s Paradigm Award program. This program promotes women in business and establishes recognition for female professionals. The Paradigm Award is given annually to a chief executive of a for-profit business who represents the pinnacle of professional achievement and community leadership.
