Chamber Launches Owners Only Series

Small business owners face ever-changing terrain on their path to success. Over the past year, the Chamber, in collaboration with its Small Business Board, has developed a new program series—Owners Only.

This series of educational, interactive, and networking programs is geared exclusively to small business owners. Attendees will hear from experts on topics central to day-to-day business operations and participate in peer discussions about issues facing the small business world. The programs will also include time for informal networking.

The Chamber is introducing two Owners Only events this program year. The first is in the Dibona Room at the Chamber offices on Friday, January 25, 2008 at 8:30 a.m.

Through the generous support of Comcast Business Class and Bloomberg Television, the January event will feature award-winning columnist, national small business consultant, and author of 201 Great Ideas for Your Small Business, Jane Applegate. Ms. Applegate will give a lively, interactive presentation on innovative marketing ideas and entrepreneurial success titled “Executive Strategies: Jump-Start Your Business in 2008.” She will focus on boosting revenues, expanding market share, and energizing your business and your employees. Additionally, Ms. Applegate will share proven strategies and practical advice for making 2008 your best year ever.

Ms. Applegate, former Los Angeles Times syndicated columnist and reporter for CNN and Bloomberg TV, is the author of four popular books on small business management. Her current clients include: American Express, The New York Times, Hartford Life and Assurant Employee Benefits.
