State of the Region

Join the regional business community, policy makers, and civic leaders from southeastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and northern Delaware for the fourth annual State of the Region on Friday, May 16 from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

State of the Region will highlight Greater Philadelphia’s strengths and discuss collective strategies for competing in a global marketplace. During a panel discussion, executives from both national and international companies will share how they are transforming their business practices to achieve growth and distinguish themselves in the worldwide economy.

The scheduled panelists are Keith S. Campbell, Chairman of the Board, Mannington Mills, Inc., Lisa Davis, Vice President of Corporate Communications, AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP, US, and Steven Nichtberger, M.D., President and CEO, Tengion, Inc. The discussion will be moderated by Tracey Matisak, WHYY Host.

Louis Cappelli, Jr., Camden County Freeholder Director, will describe waterfront initiatives and discuss how redevelopment projects enhance our regional business efforts.

State of the Region is the culminating event of the County Breakfast Series — a program series of local breakfasts, sponsored by Wachovia, that featured prominent executives offering their perspectives on doing business in the region.

Select Greater Philadelphia will release its third Regional Report, a comprehensive analysis of how Greater Philadelphia’s 11-county region compares to competitor regions on a number of key indicators and metrics.

This event is presented by the Chamber in partnership with Select Greater Philadelphia, the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey and the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce.
