Counties Come Together to Create Regional Plan for Growth
Building a competitive region requires collaboration between many local municipal governments, civic organizations and businesses. The Chamber works to facilitate dialogue between all of these entities. With this in mind, the Chamber will honor elected county officials from Philadelphia and surrounding Pennsylvania counties on Wednesday, May 13, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Drexelbrook in Drexel Hill, PA. Chamber members will have the opportunity to network with invited guests, including the Mayor of Philadelphia, the Board of Commissioners of Bucks, Chester and Montgomery Counties, and the Delaware County Council.
These public officials make up the Metropolitan Caucus, which Mayor Nutter formed earlier this year. In the spirit of regional cooperation, the Metropolitan Caucus will meet for the second time before the County Leadership Luncheon. The Caucus focuses on issues of common interest across the counties. The group includes Bucks County Commisioners James F. Cawley, Charles H. Martin and Diane Ellis-Marseglia; Chester County Commissioners Carol Aichele, Kathi Cozzone and Terence Farrell; Montgomery County Commissioners Joseph M. Hoeffel, James R. Matthews and Bruce Castor, and Delaware County Councilors Linda Cartisano and John Whelan.
The County Leadership Luncheon is sponsored by Shire Pharmaceuticals, Sovereign Bank, and the PFM Group.
