MAC Alliance announces the Honorary Co-Chairs of the 2009 Mid-Atlantic Capital (MAC) Conference Hosted by Blank Rome LLP
John Martinson, Managing Partner, founded Edison Venture Fund in 1986. He shapes Edison's overall investment strategy and leads the organization. Martinson mentors rising investment professionals and assists general partners in growing their regional and industry practices. Martinson also actively leads Edison's investments in information technology companies serving the pharmaceutical industry and education. With 30 years of venture capital experience, Martinson has organized 150 equity financings. He has served on the Board of Directors of 40 companies. Martinson is past Chairman of both the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) and the Mid-Atlantic Capital (MAC) Alliance.
Dr. Brenda Gavin is a Founding Partner of Quaker BioVentures. Previously, she was President of S.R. One, Limited (S.R. One), GlaxoSmithKline's bioscience venture capital investment company, and a general partner of EuclidSR Partners, an independent venture capital limited partnership focused on healthcare and information technology. She currently serves on the boards of various companies and other regional organizations, and she is a past board member of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA).
