Business Leaders to Meet with Elected Officials in D.C.

On Wednesday, September 16, dozens of Chamber members will travel to Washington, D.C. for Chamber Day, an annual public policy event that connects Greater Philadelphia's prominent business leaders with the region's congressional delegation for a full day of meetings.

Chamber Day provides an opportunity for local executives to build important working relationships with the elected representatives who develop policies impacting the business climate in Greater Philadelphia.

Chamber Day begins at 6:30 a.m. at Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station, where participants will board a private Amtrak car to Union Station in Washington. In the morning, members will enjoy briefings from regional members of the U.S. House in the Longworth House Office Building. The day continues in the Hart Senate Office Building for lunch and afternoon briefings by U.S. Senators.

In the public policy arena, the Chamber strives to promote public policy decisions that will bolster regional economic growth and improve our competitiveness nationally and globally.

The Chamber’s federal legislative priorities include seeking a favorable and competitive federal corporate tax structure in order to promote the growth of business and urging congressional approval of funding for important local projects such as transportation improvements. The Chamber urges cooperation and partnership among government, and business and civic communities to achieve these goals.

Chamber Day is sponsored by Boeing, ESM Productions, ENDO Pharmaceuticals Inc., and Independence Blue Cross.
