Business Leaders Meet with Officials in Washington, D.C.
More than 70 attendees traveled to Washington, D.C. last month to participate in our successful Chamber Day, an annual public policy event that connects Greater Philadelphia’s business leaders with the region’s congressional delegation for a full day of meetings.
Senator Arlen Specter (D-Pa.), Senator Bob Casey, Jr. (D-Pa.) and Senator Tom Carper (D-Del.) were among 17 elected representatives who met with participants as the Chamber advocated on behalf of the business community, on topics such as health care reform, business taxes, the environment and the proposed card check legislation.
The Chamber’s federal legislative priorities include seeking corporate tax relief in order to promote the growth of business and urging congressional approval of funding for important local projects such as transportation improvements.
