Philadelphia County Breakfast: Exploring Tourism

Join us at the Philadelphia County Breakfast, part of our annual County Breakfast Conversations series, on Thursday, November 12, 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. in the Grand Ballroom at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, located in Center City.

More than a quarter of our region’s jobs are tied to tourism, hospitality and retail. The Philadelphia County Breakfast will explore how tourism is driving economic development and generating significant revenue.

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in the dialogue as business, economic, and policy leaders discuss their involvement in Philadelphia’s development. The panel discussion, moderated by WHYY’s Tracey Matisak, will feature Jack Ferguson, Executive Vice President, Convention Division, Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau; Meryl Levitz, President and CEO, Greater Philadelphia Tourism and Marketing Corporation; and Ahmeenah Young, President and CEO, Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority.

Panelists will discuss initiatives, including collaborative marketing and the Pennsylvania Convention Center Expansion, that are promoting further economic growth.

Select Greater Philadelphia will provide an update on its progress and attendees will have an opportunity to meet Chamber President and CEO, Rob Wonderling.

In its sixth year, County Breakfast Conversations is visiting eight counties throughout northern Delaware, southern New Jersey, and southeastern Pennsylvania. Each breakfast will highlight a specific industry that is driving local economic development and accelerating regional growth.

There is no attendance charge for Chamber members.

The next County Breakfast will take place in Chester County on December 8.

The Philadelphia County Breakfast is presented in partnership with Select Greater Philadelphia. The title sponsor for the event is Wachovia, a Wells Fargo Company. Co-sponsors for the event are Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission, Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation, Philadelphia Convention & Visitor’s Bureau, and TransitChek. The print sponsor for this event is Pearl Pressman Liberty and technology support is provided by IMS Audio Visual.
