Achieving Market Awareness Through Our GPCC Membership

DP Solutions, a Mid-Atlantic area IT services company that focuses on Managed Network Services, Managed Hosting, Disaster Recovery, and IT Consulting, joined the GPCC as a way to inform members that we had expanded into the Delaware Valley.

Before I sat down to write this article, I read all of the 2009 eNewsletters and quickly realized that DP Solutions was doing everything the previous writers suggested in terms of getting the most out of our GPCC membership.

What is DP Solutions doing? First, as a representative of the company, I attend every networking event that my time and budget constraints allow, though most events are free. Additionally, throughout the year DP Solutions intends to utilize the Chamber conference rooms to host seminars. Our first event, entitled “Easy IT Grant Funding,” will be held on March 3rd. To get the word out, we applied the suggestions outlined in previous GPCC newsletter articles. These included placing an announcement on the GPCC Bulletin Board, offering a free IT Network Survey for members, and utilizing the GPCC membership list to contact specific organizations.

Networking through the GPCC is a new avenue for me. I spent the majority of my career in the wholesale and vertical markets where target companies were already identified. Therefore, it was a challenging task that my new position required mass marketing in order to be successful. However, the GPCC has made my efforts so much easier with many of the staff reaching out to assist me and being readily accessible, including GPCC President & CEO, Rob Wonderling. These individuals are here to help, so I encourage you to take advantage of their services. Once you outline your goals, get them involved; they will make suggestions on the GPCC services that are available to help you succeed. It really is that easy!

The GPCC has greatly benefited me and my company. Without our affiliation with the GPCC, I believe that I could not have shared our story with so many people in such a short timeframe. I’ve met some wonderful people at the networking programs, learned many new things listening to others (who knew you could get biofuels from algae?), heard some funny stories during the Business After Hours networking events, and was even introduced to a new concept called tele-beers (ask me when you see me).

Most importantly, I’ve gained an awareness of the Greater Philadelphia regional marketplace that I never had before; and I was born here! This awareness has gone both ways. Due to our GPCC association, many people in the region now know that DP Solutions exists and are aware of the services that we can provide.
