Enjoying the Tantalizing Flavors of Chile
On Wednesday, April 28 over two hundred guests will flock from Philadelphia, New Jersey and Delaware to enjoy an evening of authentic Chilean cuisine at the University and Whist Club in Wilmington, Delaware.
The Chilean and American Chamber of Commerce (CACC) will present their fifth annual “Experience the Taste of Chile” dinner to a room filled with international businessmen and women, wine connoisseurs, fruit importers, and many more. The evening will begin with a wine reception and networking, followed by our annual dinner with special guest speaker Ronald Bown, Chairman of the Chilean Fresh Fruit Association.
“Our annual dinner is significant for the CACC as well as the industry. It is a time when we all get together to recognize our countries’ successful trade relationship, and take the time to appreciate the flavors of Chile,” says Ricardo Maldonado, executive director of the Chilean and American Chamber of Commerce. “This year’s dinner is especially impactful as we celebrate the resilience of this South American country after the devastating earthquake hit in early March.”
The three-course menu showcases Chilean gourmet products, starting with a salad that features Chilean avocado oil, mandarin oranges, edible flowers, and Chilean Andes Panquehue cheese. The entrée will include a savory crab cake stuffed with Chilean Haas avocados, flavored with sweet peppers, asiago and shallots, and the third-course will end with a “Dulce de Leche” flan with a caramelized Chilean pear, raspberry coulis and mint leaf.
