Workers’ Compensation: Impact of Trends, Costs & Litigation, 4/22

Workers’ Compensation is often an organization's largest insurance cost component, with recent turbulent economic conditions compounding the issues of rising incidents, fraudulent claims and litigation.

Join us at Workers’ Compensation: Impact of Trends, Costs & Litigation as Elizabeth Crum, Deputy Secretary for Compensation & Insurance, PA Department of Labor and Industry, explores how manufacturing, construction, distribution, healthcare, education and other sectors are adapting their strategic plans to respond to new laws and industry trends on the horizon.

The event will take place on April 22, 8:00 – 10:30 a.m., at the Union League of Philadelphia, located in Center City.

Participants will have the opportunity to hear from experts in three informative presentations that address workers’ compensation issues. Kevin Smith, Vice President, The Graham Company, will present “Controlling Costs: Top Issues in Choosing the Right Insurance Program”; Gordon C. Manin, M.D., Occupational Medicine, WorkNet, will present “Medical Management: Selecting an Occupational Health Provider”; and Gary H. Hunter, Esq., Partner, German, Gallagher & Murtagh, P.C. will present “Legal Issues: 15 Tips in 15 Minutes.”

Additionally, attendees will hear from a panel of experts as they discuss the claims process and the different perspectives involved within this process. The panel will include Joseph P. Boyle, ARM, Eastern Regional WC Claims Manager, Aramark; Gary H. Hunter, Esq., Partner, German, Gallagher & Murtagh, P.C.; Cheryl LaPotin, Executive Director, School District Insurance Consortium (SDIC) & The Pennsylvania Self-Insurers’ Association; and Tony Viggiano, Regional Director of WorkStrategies for NovaCare Rehabilitation.
