Explore Entrepreneurship at BigThinking Greater Philadelphia: The Moment for Entrepreneurship is Now

For Greater Philadelphia, the employers of the future are likely to be the current small entrepreneurial firms with the next big idea. These firms range from enterprises that engage in cutting-edge research to small family businesses. They seek out opportunities and are relentless in their will to succeed. They are the economic lifeblood of our region.

Join us to explore entrepreneurship in our region at BigThinking: The Moment for Entrepreneurship is Now. This event will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 8:00 – 9:30 a.m. at the Union League of Philadelphia, located in Center City. Formerly known as Rethinking Philadelphia, this event is an annual program of the Chamber and the Philadelphia Daily News, and explores important issues affecting our city and region.

The event will feature a panel of people who are elbow-deep in building their own businesses as they share stories of their failures and their triumphs. Attendees will learn what public policies are most helpful, which funding sources most valuable, and how we can cultivate the knowledge, talent, and enthusiasm necessary for next-gen success.

The panel will be moderated by Sandra Shea, Editorial Page Editor, Philadelphia Daily News, and will include Donna Allie, President, Team Clean, Inc.; Michael J. Heller, Chair, Business Law Department, Cozen O’Connor; Blake Jennelle, Founder, Philly Startup Leaders; Dr. Stephen Tang, President & CEO, The University City Science Center; and Michael Worth, Co-Founder, VGI Philly and Owner, Mike Worth Music, Inc.

In addition, the program’s co-producer, the Philadelphia Daily News, will produce a supplement which will complement and reinforce these important issues.

Greater Philadelphia’s future hinges on developing new businesses and new jobs. Let’s think big about how to build a culture of entrepreneurship here.
