When I came to work for Volt Workforce Solutions, I knew one of the first things I needed to do was have Volt join the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. I had been a previous member and had been working with the Chamber for over five years. During that time, I strongly suggested and recommended membership to my clients and partner companies. Through participating in the Chamber's Supplier Network and other programs, I gained insight on how to best work with the Chamber representatives to maximize my companies return on investment. I have been proactive with the Chamber to understand how it works and what programs and events would beneficial to our success.
I have had the honor of serving as an Ambassador this past year and will be serving on the committee again this coming year. The Ambassador's role is to assist member companies in identifying specific programs and events that would promote success and help them achieve their goals. These goals may include indentifying new clients, increasing exposure, making new contacts or doing new business and generating revenue. I have had great success at making connections with new clients, partners and just good people who have the same initiatives. I have enjoyed working with new member companies that are interested in reaching their full potential.
The Chamber features well-run programs and first class events, and highlights the region's top industry professionals. There is a wide range of topics and events to promote all Chamber member businesses. To get the full benefit of the Chamber's great offerings you have to get involved and participate in the events and programs.
We at Volt Workforce Solutions have had great success in making strategic connections with partner companies and new client engagements. Not long after joining I met Reshma Moorthy from Frontier Technologies. We indentified that we would be great partners and have forged a successful partnership. This relationship came directly from getting involved in our Chamber membership.
Reshma Moorthy, Business Development Manager, Frontier Technologies, Inc.
Frontier Technologies, Inc. has been a member of the Chamber for about two years now.
Initially it was tough trying to find relationships where people wanted your business versus people always trying to sell their business to you. However, once I joined the Ambassador Committee I noticed that the people were more willing and trying to understand about each company's “core competencies” and were genuine in helping people make connections.
During one of the Chamber events, I ran into Mike Andrus, from Volt Workforce Solutions, and we were discussing some of the staffing contracts that Frontier has lined up over the course of the past few months. At that moment, Mike and I immediately started working together and developed our teaming strategy to start drumming up business within this area. His resources have been very helpful and have laid out the plan for a mutually beneficial & successful relationship.
