Paradigm Award Nominations Due 9/26

We are actively seeking nominations for the Paradigm Award, which the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce presents annually to a singular woman in business whose outstanding professional and personal achievements serve as a model for success.

A nominee for the Paradigm Award is distinguished as an influential chief executive of a profit-making enterprise with a strong local economic impact. Her leadership and dedication to a variety of interests contribute significantly to the socio-economic prosperity of the Greater Philadelphia region. She is respected in her profession and throughout the community for her commitment to excellence and her vision for women and future generations.

The Paradigm Award is presented at a special celebration held each year in March. This year’s awards luncheon will be held on March 12, 2009.

Through the support of Ernst & Young LLP, the honoree receives and later directs $25,000 to a charitable organization in our region. An additional $25,000 in scholarships for working women is funded by Devereux, Stradley Ronon and other supporters. A one-year term on the GPCC Board of Directors is also reserved for the Paradigm Award recipient.

The nominee must be a chief executive of a for-profit company, responsible for the profit and loss of the business, and distinguished by her:

  • outstanding achievement in a business or profession
  • leadership abilities and dedication to a diversity of interests
  • positive influence on the economic and social fabric of our 11-county region
  • special commitment to women and quality of life for future generations

Past recipients include Deborah M. Fretz, President & CEO, Sunoco Logistics Partners, L.P. in 2008 and Terry D’Alessandro, Market Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Sovereign Bank’s Metro Philadelphia/Southern New Jersey region in 2007.
