Rosemary Turner
President, UPS Chesapeake District
Rosemary Turner, president of UPS Chesapeake District, is responsible for providing overall vision in a global business environment and implementing long- and short-term strategies that emphasize performance and growth. She also oversees promotion of a customer-centric focus, which comprises a portfolio of logistical and technological solutions to help businesses of all sizes compete and grow. In addition, she facilitates a cross-functional team and advances positive people relationships that together foster public and community relations.
Ms. Turner has 33 years of experience in the transportation industry with leadership skills that have empowered her expertise in analyzing market strategies to increase profitability, managing business operations, implementing organizational and cultural change and delivering on execution. She is an impressive communicator with honed interpersonal, team-building, negotiation, presentation and analytical skills.
As president of UPS in Omaha, NE and Southern California, CA, Ms. Turner has built relationships with business partners, service providers and customers throughout the United States. These long-term business partnerships enable her to monitor accounts and isolate potential problems early, so that solutions can be enacted.
In her current role as president in the Chesapeake District, Ms. Turner ensures that UPS provides the logistical capabilities to support new business in fives states; Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia, including the metropolitan cities of Baltimore, Philadelphia, Wilmington, and Washington D.C.
Actively engaged within the community, Ms. Turner serves as an executive board member for the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and the Urban League of Philadelphia; as board chair for the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania; as a member of the Board of Trustees for Loyola Marymount University and also as a board member for Main Line Health. In addition, she serves on the Mayor’s Private Task Force in Philadelphia, the Philadelphia School Reform Working Group, the Diversity Council for Comcast/NBC, and the CEO Ambassadors for 21st Century Education.
Ms. Turner has been an inspiration within the community everywhere she has resided. Her energy and tenacity are unparalleled. With a true enthusiasm for giving, her passion includes improving educational initiatives and programs for young people and mentoring young female professionals.
