Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Who is eligible for this discount drug card program?
A: Every resident of Pennsylvania is eligible for this program. There are no age or income restrictions to receive these discounts and no applications to fill out.

Q: How can I get a Pennsylvania Drug Card?
A: Visit www.PADrugCard.com to download and print your card. Anyone not able to access the website, or otherwise obtain a member card, can visit any Pennsylvania ACME SAV-ON Pharmacy, Target Pharmacy, Kmart Pharmacy, Giant Eagle Pharmacy, Giant Pharmacy, King’s Pharmacy, Mr. Z’s Pharmacy, and Scot’s Lo-Cost Pharmacy. Simply ask the pharmacist to process your prescription through the Pennsylvania Drug Card in order to receive a discount.

Q: Am I guaranteed to be accepted into this program?
A: Yes. This program was created with “open eligibility." Therefore, every Pennsylvania resident with a legal prescription is eligible to receive a discount by processing their prescription through the program.

Q: Can I use the Pennsylvania Drug Card if I already have insurance?
A: Yes. Anyone with insurance can use the Pennsylvania Drug Card to obtain savings on non-formulary or non-covered medications.

Q: Can this card be used by people on Medicare part D?
A: Yes, this card can be used to provide people with savings during the “GAP” or “DONUT HOLE."

Q: How is the Pennsylvania Drug Card made possible?
A: This prescription assistance program is made possible, and fully funded, through the participation of pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies.

Q: What type of discounts can you expect when you use this card?
A: This program has “LOWEST PRICE” logic to guarantee that you pay the lowest price on your prescriptions (you pay the lower of a discount off the Average Wholesale Price-AWP, a discount calculated off MAC Pricing, or the Pharmacy Promotional/Retail price). Savings can be as high as 75 percent on some drugs. Average savings are roughly 30 percent.

Q: What prescriptions are discounted with this program?
A: The Pennsylvania Drug Card has an “OPEN FORMULARY” which means that all drugs are eligible to be discounted through this program.

Q: How is the Pennsylvania Drug Card different from other Rx programs?
A: The Pennsylvania Drug Card is a solution to the confusing maze of discount programs that have appeared in recent years. Many of these programs only cover certain drugs, charge fees, and some have membership restrictions such as age and income requirements. Furthermore, some plans sell/share information. Pennsylvania Drug Card will not share, sell, or distribute personal information for any reason.

Q: What pharmacies accept the Pennsylvania Drug Card?
A: This program is accepted at over 50,000 pharmacies across the country. You can search for participating pharmacies at www.PADrugCard.com.
